Know My World is a global platform that connects classrooms and provides educators with resources to deepen their students’ confidence and realize their own strengths. When children are able to improve their self-awareness through social-emotional learning (SEL), they are able to collaborate with others, navigate social situations, foster peer-to-peer relationships, and do much, much more.
In fact, according to a recent study:
87 percent of teachers surveyed believe SEL has the power to help prepare students for the workforce by creating the social skills needed to interact with people of various beliefs and backgrounds.
Without SEL, our children will miss out on opportunities that will help shape the skills needed to perform successfully in college and beyond.
With the COVID-19 pandemic keeping most students apart from each other, now is the time to work on improving their social skills. Many of them have or will return to the traditional classroom, so it’s up to us as adults to support them every social step of the way. And this is why I am reaching out to you.
We need your help.
Right now, you can provide children with the social and emotional skills they need to re-enter their schools. We want to help support teachers and administrators like you in your quest to raise the bar for all students faced with learning how to be social and manage so many new emotions in a post-COVID world.
By joining forces with us — for as little as $10.00 and up to $1,800.00 — you can sponsor a partial or full virtual cross-cultural exchange as we support the social and emotional needs of students everywhere in a post-COVID world. Your donations allow us to once again connect students, but this time to facilitate healing dialogue as students share their challenges and experiences this past year during the pandemic with peers in their community and around the world. Once students regain personal confidence and a sense of safety they will be able to once again participate in meaningful virtual cross-cultural exchanges that focus on cultural awareness, global issues, and social justice. Your donation will go so far in providing these valuable opportunities for students we work with around the world.
