Genevieve Murphy
Executive Director President
Genevieve Murphy is the co-founder, Director, and Board President of Know My World. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her aim is to inspire and support educators in changing the traditional paradigm of education. Through the avenues of teacher training, and student virtual cross-cultural exchange programs she hopes to support more classrooms around the world to integrate social, emotional, and cultural competencies into their teaching and learning in meaningful and impactful ways.
For three years she had the honor of teaching English as an ambassador in Japan through the JET Program. While there, she directed a local charity organization called Everest of Apples, which focused on providing equal education scholarship opportunities especially to female students, in Hetauda, Nepal. She also worked with local NGOs including Protect Earth Protect Yourself (PEPY) and This Life Cambodia (TLC), to promote quality education in Cambodia.
She has presented professional development workshops at the East Asia Regional Conference for Overseas Schools (EARCOS) in Thailand, China, and Borneo as well as in person in the United States, Nepal, Japan, and Taiwan and virtually through the International School Counselors Association (ISCA) and the Global Education Conference (GEC) online conferences.
For eight years she taught as an elementary homeroom teacher at The American School in Taichung (AST) teaching grades 1-4. This is currently her third year with the privilege of working as the Social and Emotional Coordinator.

Joe Huang is the co-founder and CEO of MangaX Technology, a Taiwan-based EdTech company focusing on social-emotional learning (SEL). He received his PhD, MS, and BS degrees in Computer Science and Engineering Informatics from National Chung Cheng University, Chiayi, Taiwan. He was an assistant professor from 2006 to 2016, in medical informatics at Tzu Chi University, Hualien, Taiwan. -MangaChat Platform: https://studio.mangachat.co/
Description:
In order to facilitate teachers and counselors to implement SEL, MangaX Technology created the MangaChat platform, which is an online journaling platform with comics for K-12 students. The platform transforms psychotherapy (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT) into manageable steps of art creation, so that as creating a comic story on the platform, users actually experience psychotherapy for themselves.
