In this edition of the Ed Tech Pick, I have chosen to talk about Filmora – a computer program that creates photos, stills, screencasts and videos easily and effectively for not just teachers or instructional designers, but anyone who is interested in using a user-friendly program.
Here are a few reasons why I chose Filmora for my instructional design and educator needs:
- User-friendly: Usually when I needed to create a video for a project or a client, there are other popular programs that I would lean towards because they are built into the computer or because I already knew how to use the program and wanted to save time. Filmora however, once downloaded to your computer, is just as simple. There are no complex instructions on uploading or editing pictures or videos. Just upload your content and start creating!
- Low cost: There are so many programs that come with a cost, especially if you want access to all of the features. Filmora does have a cost for the program but to purchase a license that will last you for a lifetime for only $30 is definitely well worth the cost! There are no worries about subscriptions coming to an end and needing a renewal, nor is there any worry about using the program in your work and no longer having the license.
- Professionally Creative: I used Filmora to create a video for Know My World! Yes, and it came out looking clean and professional. Filmora allows you as the creator to be…creative! There are many effects to choose from when creating your project that will also make any amateur editor feel like a professional. Filmora allows any creator to advance their skills in the editing area. Taking photos and videos and making edits is just that simple. Just upload and start editing.
For my next project, if I am asked to do any editing for videos or photos, I will definitely have Filmora on the list.
