“The secret of good health lies in successful adjustment to changing stresses on the body.” – Harry J. Johnson
A healthy habit is a repeated positive behavior that boosts your well-being. Helping our students understand how to cultivate healthy habits is important at any age or grade level. There is a huge connection between our students’ well-being and their ability to focus in class, learn new content, and retain information. Part of this scaffolding process is guiding students to the awareness that healthy habits sprawl across multiple areas of our lives, and they continue to expand as we grow into adulthood. Areas of heath that we as adults need to be conscientious of include physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, nutritional, social, environmental, occupational, intellectual, and financial health. Cultivating your own healthy habits in all of these areas would be beneficial for you as well. Starting students on the path to creating healthy habits while they’re young will give them helpful tools towards success later in life as they too learn how to balance wellness in all these areas.
